The Pen, the Trumpet, the Sword, and the Purse Tour with Dr. Paul Jehle
The American War for Independence was a remarkable era, full of remarkable men, who accomplish remarkable objectives through the Providential plans of God, and to whom we owe our freedom. In this traveling lecture through colonial Williamsburg, Dr. Paul Jehle delivers a powerful talk on how George Washington (the Sword), Patrick Henry (the Trumpet), Thomas Jefferson (the Pen), and John Hancock (the Purse) worked together, along with other great patriots of the time, to accomplish together the work of creating this great nation. He illustrates the Providence of God in raising up men, gifted in different ways, all to accomplish His purpose for America. Sold Out
Liberty or Death Tour with Dr. Marshall Foster
Known as “The Trumpet of the Revolution,” Patrick Henry is one of the most inspiring of all the American Patriots. The author of those famous words, “I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!” Patrick Henry was born and raised in Virginia, was a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses, and three-time Governor of Virginia, and lived not far from colonial Williamsburg. Dr. Marshall Foster will delight his audience with the history and impact of America’s greatest orator on a traveling lecture through colonial Williamsburg, pointing out landmarks influential to Mr. Henry’s life. Sold Out
The Parsons Rebellion Tour with Dr. George Grant
King George III of England recognized the American War for Independence for what it was: a “Presbyterian Parson’s Rebellion.” Pastors throughout the colonies rejected the doctrine of the Divine Right of Kings. Steeped in the Scottish Covenanter heritage of liberty, the “black-robed regiment” maintained that there is but one Christ and Savior who wears the crown of all authority over all the nations of the earth. There is but one King of kings and Lord of lords. Join Dr. George Grant in his walk through Colonial Williamsburg for a fascinating “traveling lecture” where he explains how colonial pastors — many of whom had endured great privation twenty years earlier as part of the Scottish resistance against the English crown — fueled the fires of freedom that ultimately lead to American Independence. Without their influence, there would be no Christian America. Sold Out
Meet the Grandson of the Tenth President with William Potter
The tenth President of the U.S. was the only United States President to die the citizen of a foreign country (the Confederate States of America). While in his 70’s, his wife gave birth to Tyler’s son. This son upon reaching his 70’s sired a child. That young man grew up to be Harrison Tyler, a long time friend of the Vision Forum Faith and Freedom Tours, and a fascinating man in his own right. Mr. Tyler, the grandson of the tenth President of the United States of America, now invites you to join historian Bill Potter for this private tour of the ancestral home of the Tyler family — Sherwood Forest. The plantation, first recorded in a 1616 land grant, was originally known as Smith’s Hundred. The house, circa 1720, is a classic example of Virginia Tidewater design: big house, little house, colonnade, and kitchen. Purchased by President Tyler in 1842, the 1,600-acre estate was named Sherwood Forest. It remains the longest frame house in America — expanded to its present length of over 300 feet in 1845 when Tyler added a 68-foot ballroom catering to the popular dance of his time, the Virginia Reel. Join us for a peek into the past. Sold Out
The Quadricentennial Tour with Doug Phillips
On this exciting tour, Doug Phillips will trace the Jamestown Settlement from its Christian origins in 1607, including the remarkable life of Capt. John Smith, the establishment of the Christian Common law, the experiment in Republican government, the first Christian baptism and marriage, and the glorious Bacon’s Rebellion of 1676, which should rightly be called America’s first War of Independence. He will explain the historical and spiritual significance of the Jamestown Colony and historic Williamsburg in the development of America. This is the perfect tour to prepare your family for one of the most remarkable events of American history to date — America’s 400th Anniversary Celebration coming in 2007. Sold Out
